Do you ever have those moments where you just have to laugh out loud? I have always believed that it's important to find the humor in everyday life or else you're just going to hate it.
Ever see those people on the street, at the McDonalds, at the grocery, or at work who just seem like they hate life? Yeah, they don't know how to find the humor in life.
Now I'm not trying to be idealistic in any way and say that life can be easy and enjoyable if you just follow this one thing; but what I'm trying to say is why make life harder than it already is? It doesn't do us much good to make something worse does it?
In any case, I had a "LOL" moment the other day. I was cooking up some ginger chicken and it was taking some time to cook completely. I was quite hungry so I opted to make a little sandwich in the meantime. It was basically toasted bread, cut up hot dogs, and cheese. In short, a cheese hot dog with sandwich bread instead of a bun.
Anyways, when my roommate saw what I was eating, he said, "Man! That looks so good. Imma make me one!" The problem was, the ginger chicken was almost done and I didn't want him to ruin his dinner so I said, "Before you do, try some of the chicken I made. The rice will be done in 4 minutes anyway."
"Okay," he said as he walked over to the wok and grabbed a piece of chicken.
I just stood there looking and wondering what was going through my roommates mind as he chewed the morsel and savored the taste. I finally had my answer...
"Forget the pannini. I'll wait four minutes!"
"You sure you can wait?"
"SHO YEAH!"
Of course, he said this with such glee while rubbing his hands I quite simply had no choice but to "LOL."
Just goes to show that home cooked meals are way better than junk food.
